The previous tutorial explained how to successfully watch Netflix, but many people have encountered a new problem: they cannot watch in 1080p resolution, only up to 720p. Doesn't that mean we are wasting our money on the 1080p standard package we bought?
To help everyone, first we need to understand why you can only watch in 720p resolution.
Why Can't I Watch in 1080p?#
This is because Netflix has authentication for devices and browsers, and the famous Chrome and Firefox have not applied for authentication, resulting in a maximum support of only 720p. The old version of Microsoft Edge has authentication, but the new version of Chromium-based Edge can only support 720p by default.

How to Watch Netflix in 1080p?#
Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (new Edge) do not support 1080p, but their user base is very large, so it is a pity that they cannot watch in 1080p.
In fact, the steps are very simple and can be done quickly.
Download Netflix 1080p Extension#
The extension cannot be downloaded from the Chrome Web Store anymore, so we need to download it directly from the developer.

Here, we need to download the second Source Code (zip).
After downloading, save it in a place where you won't accidentally delete it, and unzip it.
Install the Extension#
The installation steps are as follows:
- Open the extension management page in Chrome or new Edge.
- Enable developer mode.
- Drag the folder of the unpacked extension directly into the window.
Installation successful!
Test Playback#
Open a Netflix video and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+D to view detailed playback data.
The resolution may be low when you first open it, so let it play for a while until the speed picks up.
You can see that 1080p has been successfully unlocked!
